OUR DIOCESE
The Diocese of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kentucky was established on June 11-12, 2016, when His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, enthroned His Grace Bishop Peter as its first bishop. Rooted in the Coptic Orthodox tradition—one of the oldest Christian churches in the world, founded by Saint Mark the Apostle—the Diocese serves a growing community of faithful across three states.
Under the pastoral guidance of His Grace Bishop Peter, the Diocese oversees 15 parishes, 16 priests, and 5 deacons who serve more than 3,000 faithful. The Diocese is committed to preserving the rich spiritual heritage of the Coptic Orthodox Church while nurturing the faith of its growing community in the American South.
The Diocese seeks to serve the spiritual, pastoral, and administrative needs of the Coptic Orthodox faithful in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kentucky. Through worship, education, and community outreach, we strive to nurture the faith of our congregation and share the love of Christ with all.
OUR PILLARS
Across our 15 parishes, the faithful participate in the liturgical life of the Church through the Holy Liturgy, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and Sunday School. The Diocese supports youth ministry, family counseling through the Clerical Council for Family Affairs, and outreach to those in need.
