Our Clergy

Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, Cairo (1982) and the Faculty of Theological Studies (Coptic Orthodox Seminary) in 1987. Ordained priest by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III. Served in Saint George Church, Cairo, before coming to Raleigh, NC on October 25, 1996. Elevated to the dignity of Hegumen on October 1, 2023, by His Grace Bishop Peter.

Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (1977). Graduate of the Coptic Orthodox Seminary in Cairo (1981). Masters of Anesthesia (1983). Ordained priest at Virgin Mary and St. Athanasius, Nasr City. Bachelor of Christian Ministry (2010), Masters of Divinity (2012), and studies in Christian Counseling (2013-2016).

Born in Egypt in 1964. Graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1987. Immigrated to the USA in 1992 and worked as an internist until his ordination. Previously served at St. Mark’s Church in Boston from 2001 to 2012.

Ordained by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, the 117th Coptic Orthodox Patriarch. Served at St. Mary and St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in Alexandria, Egypt for three years before being appointed priest of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Greenville in 2005.

Ordained by the Thrice-Blessed Late Pope Shenouda III along with ten others at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Egypt. Serves under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Peter and His Holiness Pope Tawadros II since July 30, 2016.

Ordained a priest in 1989, relinquishing a medical career. Served at St. Mark the Apostle’s Church at Giza, then at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, Texas (1993-1997). A scholarly priest whose passions are the Bible and the liturgy, producing insightful books and sermons.
